Carlee's Kid Creations: Activity Book {Review & Giveaway}

I had the opportunity to review their activity book. They currently have two options for their book- you can buy it already made for $35 OR you can buy just the printed out pictures and do it yourself for $15.

Carlee’s Kid Creations sent my book very quickly! I was surprised when I saw it in my mailbox only days after they sent it. I chose to have them send me the “do-it-yourself” version so that I would know how time consuming it was to do it myself and let you know what option is best.

This is what my packet looked like: It included: 7 background pages
8 pages of pictures to be cut out
And a set of instructions!

I was VERY impressed with the quality of the paper and pictures! My husband walked by as I opened it and also noticed how nice it was. It is printed on heavy cardstock to make it more durable for little kids. The instructions they included were very detailed so if you have never done this sort of thing before it would still be easy enough to figure out. They also included their email and PHONE NUMBER! I thought that was convenient, then if you get in a bind you can call them for help instead of waiting to hear back from an email.

First thing I did was laminate the background pieces. Then I cut out the following pages:

There were more pieces to cut out than I had originally thought! It ended up being 67 pieces to cut out and laminate. I have my own laminator so I decided to do it that way (so convenient!) I used about 15 sheets of laminate (for about $10 you can get 20-9x11.4 in. sheets).

With having a 3 year old girl who was VERY interested in what I was doing whenever I started to cut out the pieces, it took a long time! The pieces also had a lot of details that were hard to cut around sometimes. After I initially cut them out it wasn’t as time consuming from there.

Next you will need to buy Velcro. I normally try to get mine at JoAnn’s with a 40% off coupon (they ALWAYS have those out!) when you do it this way Velcro will be about $2 or less for 15 pieces pre-cut out.

My daughter LOVES this! It includes a lot of fun pages – Colors, shapes, ABC’s, numbers, farm animals, and sea animals. I only wish that they provided a smaller version as well so that I could pack it around in my diaper bag easier for when I go to church or the doctor’s office.

I would probably recommend buying it and making it yourself that way you can try to save money (I am all about being SAVVY of course…). If you don’t have a lot of time (and have the money) you would probably want to buy it already done.

I also love the farm page, but my favorite are the pieces to cut out and laminate. That in itself is an activity that my older daughter would love. thanks.
