What if you can’t get….
your medicine & vitamins!
Most emergency preparedness guides talk about pain reliever and other just in case medications to have in your kit. But not everyone remembers a supply of the prescription medications or even vitamins that could be very beneficial in an emergency. So, get an extra bottle of vitamins for your kit. Also, talk to your doctor about an extra weeks worth of medication to put in a kit. If it is not possible to request an extra supply to have on hand, try to create a reserve over the coming months. For a 72 hour kit it is a good idea to have a week worth of medications. For general emergency preparedness it is wise to have 1-3 months worth of medication on hand. In a severe emergency, the pharmacy will not be open.
Always remember to ROTATE medications!
