Annabel Karmel Book {Review & Giveaway}- CLOSED

A HUGE way to save money is to make your own baby food!  I can't believe how much the prices have gone up since I last bought it.  It has only been about 2 years and it has gone up about $0.20 per container.

I was SO excited when I recieved my Superfoods book from Annabel Karmel.  I made 7 containers of my own carrot baby food and saved about $6 by doing it!  (And it was easier than I thought it would be)

One thing I love about this book is that they tell you which recipes are great for freezing so that you can make it ahead or in larger quanities.  I also love their pictures.  I like to see pictures of what I am trying to make!!  The main focus of this book is to get your children to eat healthy while they are young so that it will be a habit as they grow older.  Superfoods tells about which food provide essential nutrients as well as help boost energy, reduce the risk of cancer and many other illnesses.  It was interesting reading about it.

This isn't just a cookbook, it also teaches you what you should be feeding your baby and toddler.  Superfoods tells you the signs to look for in your baby to see when they are ready to start solids, as well as a list of supplies needed to make your own baby food.  Another thing I found helpful is that it gives meal planners for each age group (ages 6 months to 3+ years).

Superfoods teaches you about which foods are more likely to cause an allergic reaction and which ones are least likely to do so.  I thought this book would mostly focus on babies and making baby food, but it is MUCH more than that!  It also has fun recipes to make for your older children and gives you great snack ideas.  It also teaches you about fruits and vegetables and what nutrients they provide.

I love this book and am excited to use it as my baby grows.  My 3 year old will also love helping me make the other recipes in there that are for older kids.
