Compost Garden Book {Review and Giveaway}-CLOSED

Comment #2, Mandy is the winner. I will be contacting you for your mailing address. Congratulations!

How's your garden growing? Hopefully you have been able to enjoy lots of yummy vegetables so far and are watching and waiting for more to come. I know we are! We have actually already harvested: spinach, peas, lettuce, carrots, garlic, onions, cucumbers, zucchini, summer squash, basil, peppers, raspberries, and strawberries. A few of our vegetables are finished for the season and we are getting ready to replant for a fall harvest. My gardening friend told me that I should freshen up the garden with fresh compost before I plant so I am working on that.

I am new to composting, but I am starting to get excited about it. (I'm saving eggshells, all my vegetable scraps, lawn clippings, shredded newspaper, and just asked a coffee shop if I could have their old coffee grounds. I even got a little cow manure from my Dad's ranch!) I just rescently had a chance to review another book from Stoney Publishing entitled The Complete Compost Gardening Guide.

This book interested me because it taught how to create compost piles on site, right in your vegetable or flower garden. I have been looking at purchasing a compost bin, and they are kind of expensive, so reading about this method seemed like a more affordable method for us currently. There is something rewarding about growing a garden that is very addicting. I love the idea of using "garbage" I would have normally just have thrown out to make a rich beautiful soil. Last year we purchased our compost for our square foot garden boxes, we will not be doing that again.
