What we thought: 

My 5 year old and 2 year old LOVED it!  (No scary parts!)  I thought it was a cute movie and had some good little lessons in there.  If you are looking for a new DVD to add to your collection you'll probably like this one!

What we thought:
Really how can you go wrong with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!?  It was a fabulous DVD!  My kids LOVE the Mickey Mote because it gives them a way to interact with the DVD and I love it because it makes them think and they aren't just zoned into a movie.  If you don't own this yet I would recommend adding it to your "must buy" list!

Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure {Review}

Sharpay is off to bigger and better things with her dog as they head to New York City to become famous.  It was a *fabulous* movie to watch as Sharpay finds out that nothing comes easy and that true friends are priceless.  I thought it was great to watch Sharpay learn some very valuable life lessons as she set out on her own.  If you were a fan of High School Musical you will probably enjoy this as well.

What we thought:
Who doesn't LOVE Bambi!  (ok minus the sad part in the beginning...)  I am so glad we got to review it and that it is out from the vaults!  Every home needs Bambi in it!

What we thought:

First of all, my daughter and I both LOVED the fact that there was a Mickey Mote!!  I normally don't let my kids play the games that come with the movies because I don't want them to mess with the other buttons on the remote control.  The Mickey Mote was easy to set up for them and worked great!  The movie was also a fun movie for my kids.  They always love Minnie and her friends.  If you are looking for a fabulous new movie for your kids I would recommend this one!

Our Thoughts:

My kids loved this movie.  My little boy says, "It shows a lot of love."  He keeps recomending it to everyone he sees, if they are people who seem like they like love he tells them to watch it or if they seem like they are sad he tells them to watch it.  My little girl also says that it shows love.  I guess it was a warm and fuzzy movie for them.  Her favorite part was when Santa brought Paws back to life.  For me I am a succor for little cute orphan children movies.  I watched the little kids in the orphanage and felt sorry for them and wanted to adopt all of them.

What SMS Thought:

 

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is a wonderful family classic full of music and adventure!  Caractacus Potts, played by Dick Van Dyke, is a single father of two adorable children.  He spends most of his time inventing things, one of which is a car that, incredibly, drives, flies, and floats!  This car takes Potts, his two children, and their lady friend, Truly Scrumptious, on a wonderful adventure to a land filled with castles, toys, and pirates, but also where all the children in the land have been banned!  But no need to fear, all turns out well in the end.  The music in this movie is also enchanting!  My only warning is that the songs get stuck in your head and you find youself singing them later throughout the day.  Overall I give this movie two thumbs up.  It would be a great choice for a fun family movie night!

Moms into Fitness {review)

I have been looking for a great workout DVD for quite a while.  When I came across Moms into Fitness I was VERY interested because the name itself told me that it would be geared towards moms.  I was so excited to get the "60 Day Slim Down System" and get started! 

The only thing about reviewing this... is that I actually had to work out!  :)

In the 60 Day Slim Down System I received these 4 DVD's

I liked working with 4 different DVD's because it changed things up for me.  I have found in the past with workout DVD's that they are too complicated- you practically have to be a dancer/cheerleader or someone more coordinated than me to do them.  I loved Lindsy Brin's DVD's because they were simple moves that didn't take weeks to learn.  I think my two favorite DVD's were the "Post Natal Boot Camp" one and "Shed 5 Fast". 

The 60 Day slim down system also comes with a meal plan, fitness plan, progress tracker and a fit level test. 

I love how you can actually track your progress and see how you are progressing throughout your workouts!

I wasn't able to follow the plan exactly as it was planned out for me because by day 2 I took the Diatasis Recti test and realized that I have it and am in the "less than 5%" group that still have it almost 2 years after having a baby.  I had no idea!  But thanks to Moms into Fitness I was able to find out what it is and how to work out with it.  Moms into Fitness have DVD's for helping us moms get over the trauma our bodies go through due to pregnancy.

They also have this great series to get you through your pregnancy and afterwards!

If you are wanting something different still... you can get workout downloads right to your phone or computer!  What a great idea!

Go and check out their Recipes and other DVD's that they have to offer!  Buy a new workout DVD for your New Years Resolution or for now!  They are offering you a 20% discount!

Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue DVD {REVIEW}

My 4 year old invited her cousins over for a Tinker Bell party.  It was a blast!  There were 3 girls (and me) and 2 boys ages ranging from 8 to 15 months.  I think our favorite character was actually the fat cat that is in the movie :)  it made everyone laugh.

I thought the movie was well done.  It was only an hour long which is great for kids!  I loved the messages it taught.  I think it was my favorite of the Tinker Bell movies so far.

In the movie Tinker Bell finds a fabulous fairy house!  She is curious of course... and has to go investigate.

It is then that she gets stuck and ends up meeting Lizzy!  Her first human friend.

Lizzy is a true girl :)  she loves fairies and parties. 

To find out what happens when Lizzy's dad discovers Lizzy's new friend, how Tinker Bell gets rescued and who ends up learning how to fly....

Watch it! :)  You'll love it!

Ramona and Beezus Movie Review

Last week my daughter and I got to go see a pre screening of the new movie Ramona and Beezus coming out Friday July 23^rd. I was incredibly excited for this movie because I remember reading Beverly Cleary‘s Ramona Quimby books as a child, I even checked the library the week before to see if they had the books so my daughter could read them but alas we are still on the hold list. I’m wondering if with the upcoming movie if the books are making a comeback.

My daughter was extremely excited because even though she didn’t know anything about Ramona she loves Selena Gomez (Wizards of Waverly Place). The movie was very cute and very colorful. I loved that the film stayed true to the books and Joey King did an amazing job capturing the spirit of Ramona. My favorite part of the movie was one of the little montage clips they had that looked like it was straight out of a book. Ramona’s house is being remodeled and she and Henry spend the afternoon running and jumping out the hole in the back of it. They clip goes to a scene of Ramona falling from the sky with a parachute through the clouds up above the tiny houses below.

My oldest daughter (who I took to the movie with me) definitely fits the part of the older sister Beezus who is studious and in charge while my middle child is definitely a Ramona, very creative, her own free spirit with a lively imagination who’s always getting into mischief. My favorite quote from the movie that reminded me of my daughter Beezus says, “Ramona you're really your own person, you don’t worry about coloring inside the lines” and Ramona replies, “It really depends on the picture.”

I’m definitely giving this one two thumbs up! It’s a heartfelt good clean family film that I would suggest everyone see.
